PM begins tour to Netherlands

VGP – PM Nguyen Xuan Phuc arrived in Amsterdam capital on July 8, beginning his visit to the Netherlands at the invitation of PM Mark Rutte.

During his visit, PM Phuc is expected to meet with the Dutch PM, leaders of the International Court of Justice and the Permanent Court of Arbitration, and attend Viet Nam-Netherlands Business Forum.

Viet Nam and the Netherlands have enjoyed dynamic and effective ties with the latter regarding Viet Nam as its priority partner.

The two countries established strategic partnership in climate change adaptation and water management and in agriculture and food safety.

The two-way trade is steadily expanding over the past years, making the Netherlands one of the key European markets for Viet Nam.

Dutch investors have poured US$7.7 billion in 287 projects, ranking 11 out of 119 countries and territories in Viet Nam.

Both sides have also actively coordinated at regional and international forums and organizations.

Regarding the East Sea issue, the Netherlands has positive position towards security, peace, stability in the region and disputes must be settled through peaceful measures in line with international law, especially the 1982 UN Convention on the Law of the Sea./.
