The Government chief spoke highly of the Korean President’s decision to dispatch his special envoy to Viet Nam right after the latter too office, which reflects that the RoK attaches importance to strategic partnership with Viet Nam.
The two leaders agreed to boost the exchange of high-level visits on the occasion of the 25th anniversary of diplomatic ties in 2017.
Both sides pledged to further accelerate economic, trade, investment cooperation and people-to-people exchanges and raise the two-way trade volume to US$100 billion by 2020.
PM Phuc asked the Korean side to enhance import of Vietnamese goods, especially farm produce and work closely with Viet Nam to effectively realize the bilateral free trade agreement.
He also suggested the Korean side focus on technological transfer to Viet Nam and help the Southeast Asian country to access to IDA concessional loans beyond 2017.
President Moon affirmed he treasures the Viet Nam-RoK strategic partnership, saying he will direct competent agencies to review Viet Nam’s proposals to actively boost the bilateral cooperation./.
