The Russian PM said trade volume with Viet Nam reached US$4 billion last year but it was incommensurate with the two countries’ potential.
Russia stands ready to cooperate with Viet Nam in a wide range of areas like telecommunication, banking, tourism, finance, manufacturing, shipbuilding, agriculture among others, PM Medvedev said.
According to PM Phuc, both countries agreed to accelerate oil and gas cooperation as it is a pillar of the bilateral ties. Meanwhile PM Medvedev urged the two countries to deepen cooperation in this field, including exploration and processing activities.
The two PMs also agreed to prepare well for the implementation of the Viet Nam-Eurasian Economic Union free trade agreement (FTA) which is expected to open up opportunities for the two sides to beef up trade ties.
This is one of the 13 FTAs that Viet Nam has signed or planned to join as evidence of its broad international integration policy./.
