Speaking at the conference, PM Phuc named various potentials of the province, particularly tourism, renewable energy, and high-tech agriculture that not many other localities have.
However, Ninh Thuan is home to 2,200 businesses, or one businesses per 275 residents, which is much lower than the national average rate, PM Phuc pointed out, demanding Ninh Thuan be more dynamic.
To fully exploit its advantages, Ninh Thuan needs new governance style and must be more active in creating favorable conditions for socio-economic development in the context that the province’s budget is largely depending on central sources, he said.
To attract long-term investment, the Government chief asked the local leaders to issue clear policy and commitments which he believed could enhance trust among and encourage investors.
The PM demanded the province innovate development thinking based on green and clean economic model and head to sustainable development, pay attention to environmental protection in coastal plants, industrial parks and harbors.
PM Phuc took this occasion to urge localities to develop transparent legal framework as well as healthy and fair competition environment to ensure rights of businesses and not to criminalize economic and civil relations.
Local authorities at all levels must be trustful by active enhancement of dialogues with enterprises to walk side by side with them, especially newly-established ones.
Besides, the core issue is to upgrade the capacity of authorities at all levels, he stressed.
Earlier, the PM joined the inauguration ceremony of Trung Nam wind power plant project and Binh Son-Ninh Chu urban area.
The wind power plant project, the first of its kind in the province, will come into operation in the 4th quarter next year./.
