Forecasting and policy responding capacity enhanced
Delegates at the meeting proposed tackling difficulties for businesses, especially private ones in terms of interest rate and administrative procedures as well as enhancing market management and anti-smuggling.
Professionals and representatives of ministries and agencies required launching the Government's and the PM’s measures, practicing thrifts, restructuring investment, focusing on public investment, restructuring businesses, especially the State-owned enterprises (SOEs) and reducing dependence on the Official Development Assistance (ODA) loan.
Deputy PM Vuong Dinh Hue asked the MPI to improve the business environment, support small and medium sized enterprises, synchronously develop all kinds of markets and closely follow the inflation rate.
Completing institution for development
PM Nguyen Xuan Phuc requested ministries and agencies to seek measures to reach the growth rate of 6.7% in 2016.
The ministry has to concentrate on completing the institution, remove barriers, fight corruption and propose the growth models such as economic zones and transshipment cargo areas, he said.
The ministry needs to coordinate with the Viet Nam Chamber of Commerce and Industry to successfully organize a meeting with businesses at the end of this month, he added.
Businesses are crucial resources, he affirmed, stressing the need to rally the resources for development.
PM Phuc directed the MPI to soon take measures for investment and development, not only foreign loans and bond issuance, as well as control and economize public investment and cooperate with other relevant ministries and agencies to review public investment priority, focusing on health and education.
He assigned the MPI to coordinate with other ministries and agencies to supervise key national projects, especially those with the capital more than VND10,000 billion.
The ministry has to accelerate the SOEs restructuring, including withdrawing capital from non-core business lines for investment in other areas, cooperate with the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development to enhance new rural establishment and with the Ministry of Science and Technology to do research in support of businesses operating in science and technology.
