Heavy responsibility and expectations

VGP – Newly-elected Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc was sworn into office at a time when the Communist Party of Viet Nam is accelerating comprehensive and synchronous reform.

In the next few days, the National Assembly is due to approve the five-year socio-economic development strategy for 2016-2020 with comprehensive and synchronous tasks and solutions.

In his sworn-in speech delivered this morning, Phuc said it is his great honor as well as heavy responsibility delegated by the Party, the State and the people.

He mentioned an array of issues, including international integration, administrative reform, business environment improvement, democracy and discipline, anti-corruption, and protection of independence, sovereignty, unity, territorial integrity among others.

These issues catch special attention of the pubic in general and legislators in particular and they will be the focal points of the Government and the Prime Minister in the time to come.

To fulfill missions assigned, the Government and the Prime Minister must exert all possible efforts to serve the Fatherland and the people, have strong attachment to the people, seriously be attentive to the people, and consider the interests of the people and the country as the highest objective of all policies and activities.

Prime Minister Phuc is expected to lead the Government to overcome shortcomings and weaknesses to continue the country’s reform trajectory for faster and more sustainable development./.
