Nguyen Xuan Phuc voted in as Prime Minister

VGP - New Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc was sworn into office in the morning of April 7 after 90.28% of the total National Assembly (NA) deputies elected him to the position by secret ballot.

Mr. Phuc, who is a Politburo member, was born on July 20, 1954 and currently serves as a deputy of the 13th National Assembly.

In the following swearing-in ceremony, Prime Minister Phuc pledged to listen to opinions and aspirations of nationwide compatriots and do the best to fix any shortcomings and fulfill the socio-economic development goals.

The newly-elected PM also committed to accelerating reform and international integration, administrative reform, and creating favourable business and investment environment.

The Government will spare no effort to promote democracy, strengthen discipline in the State apparatus and the whole society, while improving efficiency of the fight against corruption and wastefulness, persistently and resolutely defending the national independence, sovereignty, unification and territorial integrity, he said.

Prime Minister Phuc vowed to absolutely be loyal to the Fatherland, the People and the Constitution of the Socialist Republic of Viet Nam.

He also pledged to make concerted efforts to fulfill the missions assigned by the Party, the State and the people./.
