PM Phuc said he was convinced that the visit would contribute to cementing and deepening the cooperation between Harvard University and Vietnamese peers in education.
The host leader stressed that Viet Nam hoped to shake hands with the U.S. in general and Harvard University in particular.
He took the occasion to thank the cooperation and support of Harvard University for Viet Nam, saying members of the Harvard Viet Nam Program proactively cooperated with Viet Nam to successfully organize the Viet Nam Executive Leadership Program (VELP).
According to the host leader, if a country wants to develop and make a success story, it needs to resolve numerous issues, of which education reform and improvement of educational quality play a vital role.
He suggested Harvard University continue to support Viet Nam in university leadership and administration and work with the Southeast Asian nation to raise funds for the VELP and increase the number of overseas Vietnamese students.
For her part, Ms. Drew Gilpin Faust expected that the Fulbright University Viet Nam (FUV) would become a model which connects researchers and scholars of the two countries.
She was convinced that there are wide doors for Viet Nam and the University to beef up cooperation; pledging to strive for more Vietnamese students to study in Harvard University./.
