The two PMs were unanimous in cementing and deepening the traditional ties, special solidarity and comprehensive cooperation.

They agreed to shake hands to realize the  agreements reached at the annual meeting of senior officials from the two Politburos in December 2015; the 38th meeting of the Lao-Vietnamese Bilateral Cooperation Committee; the official tour of Lao General Secretary and President Bounnhang Vorachith in May, 2016 and that of Vietnamese State President Tran Dai Quang this June.

Viet Nam, affirmed PM Phuc, pledged to cooperate with Laos to review and timely resolve obstacles facing Vietnamese investors in Laos in favor of the neighboring country’s development. He also proposed related Vietnamese and Lao ministries and agencies seek ways to encourage Japan to engage in building the Vientiane-Thanh Thuy-Ha Noi Expressway.

The Vietnamese Government leader praised Laos as the Chair of ASEAN in 2016 and hoped that the two countries would work together and cooperate with other ASEAN member states to maintain and consolidate the solidarity and consensus of the bloc and ensure a common voice on regional issues, especially the East Sea issue.

For his part, PM Thongloun Sisoulith affirmed that the Lao Government would closely coordinate with Vietnamese peer to speed up progress of Vietnamese overseas investment projects in Laos./.
