The Vietnamese Government chief also extended thanks to the great and valuable support and assistance of the Government and people of Romania to the Southeast Asian country’s past struggle for national liberation and the current development cause.
Viet Nam always attaches importance to enhancing the friendship and cooperation with traditional partners, including Romania, affirmed PM Phuc.
Meanwhile, the Romanian PM spoke highly of Viet Nam’ reform achievements as well as its rising position in the region and the world.
Viet Nam is an important parter of Romania in Southeast Asia, said PM Dacian Ciolos, adding that his country expects stronger cooperation with Viet Nam, especially in such fields like economy, trade and investment.
Both sides agreed that they will strengthen trade exchanges, encourage business circles to seek investment opportunities, and cooperate in science-technology, secrity and defense.
The two PMs showed their pleasure at the close coordination of the two countries at international forums and discussed on regional and international issues of common concern.
Regarding the East Sea issue, the two leaders shared their concern over the recent developments in the East Sea, emphasizing the necessity to settle disputes through peaceful measures in line with international law, the UN Charter, and especially the 1982 UN Convention on the Law of the Sea and the Declaration on the Conduct of Parties in the East Sea, towards early conclusion of a Code of Conduct soon, considering this as an effective way to ensure peace, stability, security, safety and freedom of navigation and aviation and trade in the East Sea.
PM Dacian Ciolos took the occasion to invite PM Phuc to pay an official visit to Romania.
After the talks, the two PMs co-chaired a joint press conference and witnessed the signing of cooperative documents on culture, education and energy./.
