PM Phuc on June 22 in Ha Noi hosted a reception for Minister Prak Sokhonn who travelled to Viet Nam to beef up the bilateral friendship and solidarity, multi-faceted linkages between the two nations.
He expressed his pleasure at the fine relations in all fields in which the two sides regularly exchanged delegations at all levels and cooperative mechanisms were promoted.
The Government chief hailed the outcomes of the recent talks between Minister Prak Sokhonn and Vietnamese Deputy PM, FM Pham Binh Minh.
He suggested the two Foreign Ministries to jointly mark the 50th anniversary of diplomatic ties (June 24, 1967-June 24, 2017) in a practical manner and contribute to educating the youth generation on the friendly solidarity between the two countries.
The host leader requested promoting the Viet Nam-Cambodia Joint Committee on Economic, Cultural, Scientific and Technological Cooperation mechanism and the conference on cooperation and development among Vietnamese and Cambodian border provinces.
PM Phuc took the occasion to ask the Cambodian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation to assist in removing difficulties faced by Vietnamese nationals living in the country, particularly those related to their legal status, so that the overseas Vietnamese can have a stable life and contribute to the host country’s socio-economic development and the friendship between the two countries.
He also called on increasing cooperation between the two countries in multilateral frameworks, particularly the ASEAN, noting his hope that Cambodia would continue to express its stance together with ASEAN member states on the East Sea issue, with a view to consolidating ASEAN’s role in regional security as well as the ASEAN Community.
