Hailing Minister Manohar Parrikar’s speech at the 2016 Shangri-La Dialogue in Singapore, the PM confirmed that the Vietnamese Government advocates India’s East Sea Policy.
As an active member of ASEAN, Viet Nam will do its utmost to strengthen the ASEAN-India Strategic Partnership, supporting India to join East Asia cooperation and India to become a permanent member of the expanded United Nations Security Council.
The host appraised the talks between the two Ministers of Defense and its contributions to promoting mutual cooperation, belief and knowledge as well as maintaining international and regional peace, stability, cooperation and development.
For his side, the Indian Minister affirmed that the Indian Government attaches importance to the relations with Viet Nam.
He stressed the importance of signing the Joint Vision Statement on Viet Nam-India Defense Cooperation for the 2015-2020 period in 2015 and other memorandum of understandings on bilateral cooperation, which have promoted the two sides’ cooperation in defense.
