The event was attended by Deputy PM Vuong Dinh Hue, Minister of Planning and Investment Nguyen Chi Trung, Minister of Finance Dinh Tien Dung, Governor of the State Bank of Viet Nam Le Minh Hung, Minister-Chairman of the Office of the Government Mai Tien Dung; and Chairman of the Financial Supervisory Commission Vu Viet Ngoan.
A majority of participants assessed that the economic performance developed positively in which the macro-economy was stable; inflation was put under control; the number of newly-registered enterprises rose; the social welfare policies were implemented seriously and social security was ensured.
However, the economy encountered with challenges, including unstable economy and rising inflation rates.
Numerous solutions were raised, especially to improvement of the business environment in favor of investment stimulation and encouragement of startups, bonus policies for SMEs, as well as acceleration of SOE equitization.
Addressing the meeting, PM Phuc noted the importance of ensuring the macro-economy stability; controlling inflation rates; and persisting in the preset goals.
He emphasized the need to mobilize both domestic and foreign resources to maintain growth pace including speeding up disbursement rate of capital of major construction projects and accelerating the equitization of SOEs.
The PM agreed to set up working groups specializing in reviewing and extricating difficulties and working out appropriate solutions.
It is necessary to combine fiscal and momentary policies with others, asserted Mr. Phuc.
According to the PM, besides the goal on GDP growth , the social welfare policies must be implemented especially for victims of floods and droughts./.
