At a reception for UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres, PM Phuc affirmed that Viet Nam would actively participate in and contribute to important issues of the UN. The two sides expressed their pleasure to witness the bilateral developing ties.
PM Phuc praised the effective cooperation between Viet Nam and the Netherlands, especially on building the Mekong Delta River plan while meeting with Dutch PM Mark Rutte. He suggested the Netherlands back Viet Nam to implement the agreement on sustainable agriculture and food security strategic partnership and its run for a non-permanent seat in the UN Security Council for the 2020-2021 tenure.
Meeting with Dutch Queen Maxima, the PM hoped to learn experience on financial development and wanted to receive assistance to credit development for the poor, women, and ethnic minority groups.
PM Phuc also exchanged views with President of the Swiss Confederation Doris Leuthard in which he praised practical events to mark the 45th anniversary of diplomatic ties, especially the Vietnamese Days in Switzerland. He hailed the European country's US$ 90 million ODA provision for Viet Nam in 2017-2020 period and proposed the country support Viet Nam develop high-quality education.
The same day, PM Phuc also met with Sri Lankan PM and the CEOs of Alphabet Eric Schmidt, Prudential, Carlyle Group./.
