Both sides affirmed that the two Governments attach importance to enhancing the traditional and multi-faceted relations for the sake of their people and contributing to the cooperation and solidarity within ASEAN and the international and regional peace, stability and cooperation.
PM Phuc suggested the Myanmar Government assist Vietnamese businesses to invest and expand operation in Myanmar, especially in fields of real estate, banking, telecommunications, aviation, minerals, tourism and agriculture.
They consented to closely cooperate within ASEAN framework and international and regional forums, highlight and maintain the central role of ASEAN.
On the occasion, PM Phuc conveyed the Vietnamese leaders’ invitation to Myanmar President Htin Kyaw and Ms. Aung San Suu Kyi to pay official visits to Viet Nam.
Ms. Aung San Suu Kyi accepted the invitation, saying she will arrange a visit at a convenient time.
She announced that the Myanmar President will visit Viet Nam to attend the 8th Cambodia-Lao PDR-Myanmar-Viet Nam (CLMV) Summit and the 7th Ayeyawadi-Chao Phraya-Mekong Economic Cooperation Strategy Summit (ACMECS) in next October.
