PM receives Israeli Ambassador

VGP – PM Nguyen Xuan Phuc hosted a reception for Israeli Ambassador to Viet Nam Meirav Eilon Shahar in Ha Noi on February 13.

At a reception, PM Phuc expressed his hope that cooperation between the two sides will flourish in the coming time.

Phuc suggested the Israeli embassy increase coordination with the Viet Nam Foreign Ministry to expand cooperation activities.

Viet Nam welcomes Israeli companies to invest in the country, he added.

The Prime Minister asked Israel to soon recognize Viet Nam’s market economy, and support the Southeast Asian nation in developing cyber security, agriculture, labour and defence – the strengths of Israel.

In turn, Israeli Ambassador Meirav Eilon Shahar said the upcoming visit to Viet Nam by Israeli President Reuven Rivlin will open many opportunities and prospect for stronger cooperation between the two countries.

The Ambassador said she hoped a business forum will be held on the occasion of the visit to bolster trade links between the two countries’ enterprises, adding that Israel is expanding investment in Vietnam, especially in training human resources and, receiving Vietnamese citizens to Israel to study agriculture and start-up. 

She also affirmed the early conclusion of negotiations and signing of a free trade agreement between the two nations will contribute to stepping up the bilateral ties.
