PM meets with voters in Hai Phong

VGP – PM Nguyen Xuan Phuc and the National Assembly (NA) deputies in the northern province of Hai Phong on August 3 met with voters to report outcomes of the first session of the 14thNA and listen and exchange views on issues of concerns.

At the meeting, voters proposed issues related to the national socio-economic development, human resource development, food safety and sanitation, environmental pollution caused by Formosa in four localities in the Central region and protection of sea and island sovereignty.

PM Phuc highlighted Hai Phong City’s achievements in terms of economics, social affairs, national defense and security, including the economic growth of 10.65% over the recent seven months of the year.

Regarding the establishment of a transparent and creative Government, the PM affirmed that the Government’s goals is to create jobs and incomes for people, increase creativity, protect the environment and create social equality.

Besides issuing mechanisms and policies, the Government has to launch fast and exact activities as well as uphold responsibilities to achieve more success.

He proposed measures to reform administrative procedures, reduce expenditures for businesses, maintain social order and safety, create a sustainable environment and launch specific programs for businesses, especially the Small and Medium-sized Enterprises.

Seas and islands are sacred and inseparable territory of the nation, he affirmed, adding that the protection of the territorial independence and sovereignty are responsibility of each Vietnamese citizen.

In the context of complex happenings in the world and region, it is necessary to consistently and resolutely struggle with peaceful measures to protect seas and islands sovereignty and maintain peace and stability for the national development.

The PM confirmed that functional agencies will supervise the operation of Formosa, in a bid to prevent similar incidents and consequences, asking Hai Phong City’s authorities and people to supervise the operation of plants in the region.

He expected that the city will gain the highest achievements in the socio-economic development in 2016 to make more contributions to the nation’s growth.
