New leap in VN-Mongolia relationship

VGP – PM Nguyen Xuan Phuc and his Mongolian counterpart J. Erdenebat exchanged and agreed with specific measures to consolidate and strengthen the two nations’ relations in all fields, especially in economics and trade for the sake of both at their talks on July 13 in Ulan Bator, Mongolia.

Viet Nam attaches importance to the relationship with Mongolia,  PM Phuc said, expecting that Mongolia will successfully organize the 11th Asia-Europe Meeting (ASEM) Summit.

The two leaders hailed the developments in the two nations’ relations, affirming to accelerate the relationship in all fields to meet the two people’s prospects and for the international and regional peace, stability, cooperation and development.

They consented to strengthen political trust through high-ranking delegation exchanges and cooperation in such areas as security, defense and acceleration of negotiations on related agreements. 

On the occasion, PM Phuc invited the Mongolian PM to pay an official visit to Viet Nam and he accepted.

The host and the guest assented to raise the effectiveness and role of the Viet Nam-Mongolia Inter-Governmental Committee and facilitate the two nations’ transport to raise the bilateral trade turnover.

The two PMs agreed to expand cooperation across industry, mining, light industry and pharmacy as well as promote activities in people-to-people exchanges, culture, sports, education and art to enhance mutual understanding and trust.

They lauded close coordination between the two countries at international and regional forums, stressing the necessity of maintaining maritime and aeronautical peace, stability, freedom and safety in the East Sea and supporting the settlement of  disputes with peaceful measures based on international regulations, including the United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea 1982, the Declaration on the Conduct of Parties in the East Sea (DOC) and the future Code of Conduct of Parties in the East Sea (COC).

After the talks, the two PMs witnessed the signing of the cooperative agreement between the Viet Nam Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the Mongolian National Chamber of Commerce and Industry, which is expected to boost cooperation between the two sides’ businesses and peoples.
