The two leaders reached the above agreement during their meeting on the sidelines of the second Mekong-Lancang Cooperation Summit in Phnom Penh, Cambodia on January 10.
Such agenda and measures will be submitted to the 40th meeting of the Viet Nam-Laos Inter-Governmental Committee scheduled to take place in the first half this year.
The two PMs also agreed to boost the deployment of the contents of the bilateral cooperation agreement for the period of 2016-2020 and promote the outcomes and spirit of the Viet Nam-Laos Friendship Year in 2017.
Both sides affirmed to continue their resolve to further deepen their political relations and take concrete measures to boost economic cooperation, focusing on key projects and transport connectivity.
The pair agreed to coordinate in settling the remaining issues and proactively educate their people, especially the youth to better understand and promote the special relationship between the two countries.
PM Phuc suggested the Government of Laos give priority to simplification of procedures and reduction of costs related to grant of visa and work permits for Vietnamese laborers./.
